The sandals you need this summer

I’ve been pretty engrossed in summer style this year, and thats a big statement coming from a chunky knit oversized coat oxblood everything lover. The issue with summer clothing I feel is that pieces can easily look cheap and transparent so I feel navigating around the high-street can be a tricky one. You want to look sophisticated yet casual and with fabric that wont be uncomfortable in holiday heat. Tricky… but not impossible. Here are my top four sandals to keep you covered this year.

1 – A new line dropped by John Lewis these AND/OR sandals have just enough detailing to be fun and cute without feeling like you’ve been shopping in the kids department. There completely flat so great for taking a walk into town and grabbing a bite to eat. Pair with your boyfriend jeans and white T-Shirt for that casual cali look in the city.

2 – These Aquazzura’s are pretty and fun, they come in a range of colours from a classic nude to an electric blue depending on your mood. I love how the thin straps around the ankle combined with a cute tassel gives a no fuss boho look; the perfect smart casual sandal. Pair pocking out from a long flowing maxi or with your cos wide leg trousers these shoes will take you from the city to the beach side cafe.

3 – A classic. These simple real leather Dune sandals are a wardrobe essential. I’ve had mine a few years now and they just keep on going. Pair with jeans, a beach cover-up, a playsuit you name it it works. Don’t worry about getting these wet or sandy they look good a little worn and lived in. I always recommend a brown over a black – compliments a tan better and is a lot less harsh with summer colours.

4 – Cranking up the heel height here these slim yet simple Mint Velvet sandals would be great for any outdoor pub lunch or friends BBQ. The metallic strap adds a small trend led design detail but paired with simple suede it makes them easy to wear and a little bit more interesting than a plain leather.
